ABOUT US

We’re Michelle & Stephen – architects, collaborators and founders of Complete Thought Studio



Before launching our practice in 2024, we spent years working in London and Sydney, across projects ranging from heritage-listed museums and residential architecture to installation art and retail spaces. That experience shaped not only our skills, but our shared belief in design that’s thoughtful, grounded, and open to exploration.

We started Complete Thought to work fluidly between architecture, interiors, and objects — creating spaces that are as much about how they feel to live in as how they look.

MICHELLE DUNAS
Registered architect with deep expertise in project delivery and construction. Known for precise detailing and innovative solutions to complex challenges. Current APE Assessor for the NSW Architects Registration Board.


STEPHEN CLEMENT
Registered architect with a broad portfolio spanning heritage museums, public installations, and residential projects. Experienced educator, tutoring professional practice at The University of Sydney and UTS.

What We Do 



We offer a complete architectural and interiors service — taking a project from the spark of an idea to its built reality. We also design and make custom objects and installations that complement and enrich the spaces we create.

  • Residential Architecture —  New builds, renovations, heritage work, and alterations & additions.
  • Interior Design — Kitchens, bathrooms, joinery, furniture, and spatial planning.
  • Objects & Installations — Custom pieces, small-scale interventions, and exhibition design.

Every project is tailored to your life and the way you want to live – we don’t do templates, and we don’t overdesign.

Every project is unique, but our approach follows a clear, collaborative structure to take you from concept to completion.

  1. Initial Conversation — We start by listening, learning about your site, your needs, your vision.

  2. Concept Design — We explore possibilities and translate ideas into clear, achievable design

  3. Design Development — Refining the spatial proposals, details, materials and layout.

  4. Documentation & Approvals — We prepare the drawings and documentation and coordinate approvals so you can move forward with confidence.

  5. Construction & Delivery — Working with trusted builders to bring the design to life, overseeing the process to make sure every detail is right.
